The week of July 20 to July 27, 2008

Wildman Lake Lodge - Weekly Fishing Report

Chrome bright Chum and Pink Salmon are entering several of our local rivers, including Ocean River.  Rainbow and Char fishing in the entire river system is very good, especially on beads behind spawning sockeye on the upper river near the lodge.  King and sockeye salmon fishing remains fair through this week, however a larger percentage of colored salmon being caught.  July 25th marks the last day of the King Salmon season on the Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula, however; our favorite Pacific side river remains open into the first week of August.  Although that run is not reporting a great return for 2008, normally we enjoy excellent catches of bright King Salmon during the last two weeks of July and first week of August.
