King & Sockeye Salmon, Char & Rainbow
Wildman Lake Lodge
on the remote Alaska Peninsula . . .

The week of June 29 to July 6, 2008

The King Salmon run continues and the Sockeye numbers are good in our local river.  Rainbow trout fishing is excellent near the lodge and the Arctic Char are filling the river in anticipation of the spawn, which the Sockeye will provide in early August.  In spite of some windy weather on the Alaska Peninsula, we were again sheltered by the huge Veniaminof Volcano and everyone enjoyed a great fishing day as the cold front passed to the north on Tuesday.
