The week of Aug 9 to 16, 2009

Wildman Hunting and Sport Fishing Report- Ptarmigan season opens on August 10th in Alaska and Wildman Lake Lodge is the place to be this year.  Great hatches means lots of birds.  It looks like a great bird season this year. "Ani" named for the Aniakchak volcano, is joined this year by our NEW Brittany "Veni", named for Mt. Veniaminof, the volcano nearest to our lodge.  Bright Pink and Chum Salmon are abundant in several local rivers as well as Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, Excellent Rainbow fishing and we are catching a few early Silvers so far this week.
