August 11 - 18, 2004 "Looking for Silvers"

Grif, a Wire Haired Pointing Griffon is helping us look for early arriving Silver Salmon at Wildman Lake Lodge.

Early arrivers, August 12th, Mack and Drew Bentley of Houston, TX.tie in to a few bright Silver Salmon on their first fly-out day.

Christian and Joe Austin of Redmond, WA also caught a few silvers during the early season at Wildman Lake Lodge.

Nice catch for early August on the Alaska Peninsula.

August 11 - 18 is normally considered a peak week for Pink salmon, Arctc Char, Dolly Varden and Rainbow. We were lucky this year in having a early run of Silvers too.

This is a peak week of local fishing for Char.

Jeff lands a pretty Char for Louis Neely of Sacramento, CA as "Griff" looks is getting a lesson in catching fish.

The Pink Salmon fishing is Outstanding.

Carol Hong of Honolulu, HI is having a blast catching bright shiney Pink Salmon on this Bering Sea coastal river, just minutes from Wildman.

More nice Dolly Varden on Ocean River

Jack Greenhalgh of southern California uses a 6 wt. flyrod on the local Dollies and Arctic Char in the clear artesian waters of Ocean River.

Rainbow range up to 28 inches at Wildman

Mack Bentley of Houston shows us a nice Wildman Rainbow caught on a dry fly in Wildman Creek.

Here's a bright Pink Salmon on a fly rod!

Pinks are real scrappy on a light fly rod. Very aggesive and plenty of them still with sea lice from just leaving the Bering Sea and entering our nearby rivers.

Jack Greenhalgh of El Dorado, CA landed bright pinks all day long on this secluded stream running into the Bering Sea. Just Jack and the bears.

Fishing for Silver and Pink Salmon at our Ilnik Camp.

Silvers are just arriving this week at our Ilnik Camp on the lower part of our local river. We will be fishing Silvers from this camp through the first part of October.
