Alaska Fly fishing Guides enjoy all tackle from double hand Spey rods to the traditional single hand fly rods for Salmon and Steelhead. Our rivers work well with wading, casting and swinging flies.
We are able to fly or jetboat to the best waters in our area. Volcanic sand river bottoms is typical here on the Alaska Peninsula. Available species are Pacific Salmon, Rainbow, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden and wild Steelhead.
A sinking tip for a floating line is very effective. Dry fly fishing for Rainbow and Char or even poppers for Silver Salmon will need a floating line. We use 6 weight rods for trout and char, 8 weight rods for salmon and either a 9 weight or 10 weight for King Salmon fishing.
